Meta retires Access Verification requirement for Tech Provider apps

Meta removes the separate Access Verification review for apps that access client business data as Tech Providers; the source gives no effective date.

What changed: Meta is removing the Access Verification form, its prerequisites, and its status field from the App Dashboard for Tech Provider onboarding, and API calls that previously required a passing Access Verification status will no longer be gated on that check. Adding an app to a business will no longer change the app's business-use classification; that now follows only from the developer explicitly upgrading the app or from the advanced permissions it requests, with Direct Integrator as the new default.

Who is affected

Businesses that build apps accessing Meta business data owned by their clients, i.e. those holding or applying for Tech Provider status; the source does not name any sector or country limitation.

What it means for your business

For businesses that build apps on Meta's Graph API or Marketing API to access client business data, this means they can go live without filing a separate Access Verification submission or waiting on its outcome.

What to do

If you build Tech Provider apps, stop relying on the Access Verification step in App Dashboard; since app classification no longer changes automatically, explicitly request needed advanced permissions through App Review or upgrade the app to Tech Provider yourself.

When it takes effect

The source gives no specific effective date, only that the change has been announced.
